When we arrived at Crowcombe the house had benefitted from the hard work of our predecessors who had done a great deal to the house. They had concentrated on that for which we were grateful. Like most of the owners for the previous 50 years however, they had spent less time in the 10 acres of gardens.
Alongside finishing the house we have undertaken a series of projects to improve the gardens and grounds. These include the North Garden, the Hydrangea Beds, the Orchard, the Lake and the Wild Woodland. We have also removed tons and tons of vegetation from the walls around the Walled garden, recapped them and successfully killed off quite a lot of Japanese Knotweed! The ground inside the Walled Garden is being terraced and the layout will be put down during the summer of 2017. The project will take us several years to complete as we are paying for this from our own pockets and income made running events at the house.
The gardens are open to the public on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd July between 14.00 – 17.00. See our events page for more information.
